Description

SAFETY HELMET FITTING is also known as the suspension system or harness, is the critical component that sits inside the hard outer shell. Its primary function is to absorb and distribute the force of an impact over a wider area of the head, preventing direct contact between the hard shell and the skull. This is what truly protects the wearer from serious injury.

Available for all type of Safety Helmets

A typical suspension system consists of several key parts:

  • Headband: A band that goes around the wearer’s head, fitting snugly above the ears. It is adjustable to fit different head sizes and is often equipped with a ratchet or pin-lock mechanism for easy on-the-fly adjustments.
  • Crown Straps/Webbing: A series of straps or webbing that form a basket-like cradle at the top of the head. These straps are what absorb the initial shock of an impact and spread the force away from a single point. The number of points where these straps connect to the headband (e.g., 4-point, 6-point, or 8-point) determines the helmet’s ability to distribute force and is a key indicator of its protective quality.
  • Brow Pad: A soft, absorbent pad located at the front of the headband. Its purpose is to provide comfort and absorb sweat, preventing it from dripping into the wearer’s eyes.
  • Nape Strap: A strap at the back of the headband that sits at the base of the skull, helping to secure the helmet in place and prevent it from shifting or falling off.
  • Chin Strap (Optional): A strap that fastens under the chin for added security, especially in windy conditions or when working at heights.
