Description
Safety Lanyard Climax 34-A is a standard fall arrest lanyard with an integrated energy absorber. This device is mandatory in a fall arrest system, as its primary function is to limit the force of impact on the user’s body in the event of a fall to a safe level (below 6 kN, as per EN standards). The lanyard itself is generally constructed from durable webbing, providing a simple and secure connection between the harness and a robust anchor point.
Features:
- Energy Absorber Features a stitched pack or tear-away section that activates during a fall. This section tears open to dissipate kinetic energy, reducing the maximum force transmitted to the worker’s body.
- Lanyard Type Typically a single-leg webbing lanyard (as opposed to a twin/double-leg or rope lanyard), known for its high tensile strength and clear wear inspection.
- Materials Constructed from high-strength synthetic materials, usually polyester or polyamide webbing, offering excellent durability and UV resistance.
- Connectors Comes equipped with certified connectors (carabiners or scaffold hooks) on both ends: one for connecting to the harness’s D-ring and the other for securing to the anchorage point.
- Compliance Certified to European standards for fall arrest components: • EN 355: Specifies the requirements for energy absorbers and the lanyard assembly.
- Length Fall arrest lanyards often come in fixed lengths, such as 1.8 meters (6 ft), to limit the potential free fall distance.
