Description
Life Ring officially known as a Lifebuoy, is a rigid, buoyant safety device designed to be quickly thrown to a person struggling in the water. It is an indispensable, immediate-response water safety apparatus required by law on ships, docks, public swimming areas, and coastal facilities across Pakistan. It provides vital flotation support to a casualty until they can be rescued or reach safety.
Features:
High Buoyancy & Flotation: Made from durable, closed-cell foam or buoyant plastic (like high-density polyethylene) that provides guaranteed and sufficient flotation to support an adult’s weight.
Rigid & Throw-Type Design: Features a firm, circular shape (ring) designed for accurate and easy throwing over long distances to reach a person in distress.
High Visibility Color: Always manufactured in bright, high-contrast colors (most commonly International Orange or red and white) for maximum visibility against the water, especially in rough conditions
Grab Ropes/Lines: Equipped with external lines or loops (often visible as red or black rope around the edge) for the casualty to easily grab onto and hold while awaiting rescue.
Grab Ropes/Lines: Equipped with external lines or loops (often visible as red or black rope around the edge) for the casualty to easily grab onto and hold while awaiting rescue.
Durable & Weatherproof: Highly resistant to saltwater, extreme weather, $\text{UV}$ degradation, and damage from repeated use, ensuring reliability for permanent outdoor installation.
Reflective Taping (Often): Includes grade reflective tape to enhance visibility during night-time rescue operations when illuminated by a searchlight
Attached Throw Line (Optional/Accessory): Often sold with a buoyant rope attached to the ring and stored in a holder, allowing the rescuer to pull the casualty back after throwing the ring.
Certified Standards: Meets (Safety of Life at Sea) standards or equivalent maritime regulations for buoyancy and dimensions.
