Description
Automatic Traffic Barrier is a mechanism used for managing vehicle flow and enforcing access control in areas of restricted entry. It replaces manual security personnel for repetitive vehicle checks, providing a fast, secure, and reliable means of entry and exit. The system is activated by various access control devices, such as magnetic loop detectors, RFID readers, remote controls, (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras, which signal the motor to raise or lower the boom arm. Built for high-cycle use, these barriers enhance site security and improve traffic efficiency.
Features:
- High Operating: Designed with heavy-duty motors or hydraulic systems) and gearboxes to handle thousands of operations per day, making them suitable for intensive or continuous use applications (e.g., toll plazas or large car parks)
- Fast Speed: Features quick operation times (some models as fast as seconds) to manage high traffic volume and prevent tailgating by unauthorized vehicles.
- Articulated: For areas with limited overhead space, such as underground parking garages, the arm can be designed to fold in on itself as it rises.
- Safety Sensors: Equipped with infrared photocells positioned on either side of the barrier to detect vehicles or pedestrians passing through. If an object is detected during the closing cycle, the arm stops or immediately reverses
- Ground Induction Loops: Sensors embedded in the road surface detect the presence of metal (vehicles), preventing the barrier from lowering onto a vehicle and triggering the closure once the vehicle has cleared.
- Manual Override Release: Includes a manual key or hand-crank system that allows the barrier arm to be manually lifted in the event of a power failure
- IP-Rated : The motor and control unit housing is rated for or higher, offering strong resistance against dust, rain, and corrosive weather condition
- Skirts: The boom arm can be fitted with a lower skirt or full fence-style panels to deter unauthorized access by pedestrians, cyclists, or small vehicles attempting to duck under the arm
